Short film and photography for GH ST Creative Works and Jaime Valdes
Industry: Culture, Entertainment

The opportunity
Wirikuta is a desert, sacred to the Wixárika Indians (Huicholes) high in the mountains of central Mexico, between the Sierra Madre Oriental and the Zacatecas ranges, near Real de Catorce. In Wixárika cosmology, the world was believed to have been created in Wirikuta. Jaime Valdes, a Mexican influencer and first biophilic consultant in the country, invited us to experience and document a special ritual that this culture has every 2-3 years to connect with their gods in the middle of their ceremonial Wirikuta.

My role
